Guests are free to use: free WiFi, an iron bord, a wooden grill (barbecue) and two mid-sized bicycles. There is a small children's playground in front of one of the apartments. Pets are wellcomed. NOTE: considering peaceful environment and due to permanent residents and other guests, more cheerful groups in pursuit for long night noisy parties are encouraged to choose more urban or secluded place for their well deserved vacation. House rules require peace after 22 h, and shall be strictly adhered to all days of the week. Places to see: Experience the delights of staying in one of the medieval Frankopan cities – „one step away from the sea, two from snow" ! There are several beaches within 10 minutes drive distance: Beach in Novi Vinodolski is both concrete/sandy and gorgeous rocky not-so-crowded beach. Crikvenica city sandy beach offers lots of restaurants, caffes and tourist attractions, particulary for kids. Selce city beach is the closest one, only 6 km away. Further up north, there is beautiful Kacjak beach in place of Dramalj. Night life during summer is most intense in Crikvenica, and there are plenty of restaurants. If you don't wanna go far, there is a great pizzeria in the center of Bribir, 1.5 km away (walking distance). Besides the „regular“ summer pleasures, the area is covered with a network of hiking (http://www.tz-novi-vinodolski.hr/view.asp?idp=36&c=13) and biking trails (http://www.tz-novi-vinodolski.hr/view.asp?idp=35&c=12). Due to its geographical location, Bribir is a good starting point for excursions to the sights in the Kvarner Bay and beyond. Day trips are organized by watercrafts to nearby islands of Krk, Rab and the archipelago of Brijuni. In the mountain areas of Vinodol, refreshment from summer heat is found in pictoresque inns which, in addition to local specialties, also offer a vegetarian menu. More and more visitors come here to enjoy their winter holidays and spend time sleighing and strolling. Another motive for visiting Vinodol and the woodland area is the experience of ecologically preserved nature. National parks Risnjak and Plitvice Lakes are 1.5-2 hours drive away. Check out some sights from Vinodol region in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NEuxGdlAzE&feature=youtu.be Transport: As we are located in a small town few kilometres from the coast, it is advisable to use the car for getting around. There is a bus station 2 minutes from the house, that can take you to all nearby cities. Buses are usually running every 2 hours. Guests are free to use 2 mid-sized bicycles, and for the more adventurous types, nearby agency rents and delivers on premise more quality (mountain) bikes for longer tours and/or rough terrain upon request a day in advance. About Bribir: The historical town of Bribir, located in Vinodol valley, is a favorite destination for lovers of antiques and art historians. It used to be an administrative and religious center of the medieval Vinodol region. In the 19th century Bribir begins to develop outside the city walls. Remains of the medieval citadel today are only parts of the coty walls and a square tower dated back to 1302. Beautiful view expands from the hill on which the ancient city once stood. Climate: Fair, dry and hot summer and cloudy, rainy and rather mild winter with distinctive winds are characteristic of Vinodol. Mean annual temperature is 14°C. Although the woodland area is not far away from the sea, it is located in the region of a true mountain climate of Gorski kotar which is marked by short warm summers with cool nights and long cold winters with lots of snow. About us: Welcome to our old family heritage, a house maintained and renewed with a lot of effort and joy, taking great pride in it - we hope you'll like what we've done so far. Although I live and manage all reservations from Zagreb (capital), I try to response to any of the guests' inquiries promptly. Any information you might need, please do not hesitate to contact me via this web page, e-mail, sms or mobile phone. As to the direct contact with guests – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between, including chatting with a cup of hot or cold drink :) - my Mom, present at the property, will do her best to assist you. USEFUL INFO: I encourage you to ask anything that you would like to know before you book. If you are coming prior to the check-in hours, please let me know so that the apartment can be prepared for you as soon as possible. On the arrival day, my Mom will wait for you, help you to settle in and provide you maps of local area and some useful advice in (a bit slower) English. Welcome!
